Wanda and Todd Markin’s
charity of choice is the Alberta
Children’s Hospital Foundation.
They hold fundraisers for
the foundation several times
a year, through silent
auctions, hot dog sales, Christ-
mas parties and other events.
The business partners match
the money raised by these events
themselves, which adds up to
quite a bit of funding to help sick
children who greatly need it.
Todd says they feel good know-
ing that 100% of the money
goes directly to the cause.
“They send us letters, letting
us know exactly what they do
with our money,” he says.
Wanda says they chose the
charity because they felt strongly
about helping children in need.
“That was enough,
right there,” she says.
The partners also give regu-
larly to industry events such as
the Calgary Sun’s Charity Golf
Tournament and donate large
items to charitable silent auctions.
“The community supports us,
so we’re here to support the com-
munity,” Wanda says. “If we
can do something to support oth-
ers in a situation where they’re
ill, we’re happy to do that.”
