Urban not only does busi-
ness in a unique manner, he
also gives back to the com-
munity in his own way.
By raising money with the help of
the Urban Legend, a monster truck
that travels around giving rides,
Western RV is able to support the
Children’s Cancer Foundation, as
well as Friends Church in Calgary.
Last year, Western RV did its
own Think Pink campaign to raise
money for breast cancer research.
Another initiative a few
years ago saw Urban’s staff
involved in fundraising to
build a college in Haiti.
“We try to pick causes where
100 percent of the money we give
is going to the cause,” Urban says.
“I think if you’re doing well as
a business, you owe it to give
back and be generous. It’s part
of the reciprocation process.
“If every company did just a lit-
tle bit, it would turn into a lot.”
